I have been putting a lot of thought into the description of
Slugs on Bear Shit.
Often the question I get when I post a photo of one of my
slug finds, or shit finds, is “why?”.
Why indeed.
Well I think my fascination with finding shit has been an
ongoing endeavour. I was always out seeking adventure I guess, from the long
drives through Alberta’s many back roads, to my adventures in hiking remote
areas in Alberta’s forestry regions. I ADORED finding the scat and tracks left
from animals that were living their lives through this wild land.
When I moved to the coast the fascination with the Banana
Slug was an ongoing saga. And then I hit the mother load. A brilliant yellow
Banana Slug gorging itself on a fresh pile of partially consumed Black Bear feces.
It was AWESOME!
Over time I found more bear shit and more slugs, so Slugs On
Bear Shit was born!
